Do we need a new style automated 1-click-CiviCRM-deployment-thingy? Planning call... | @Detlev | Monday, 4th December 2023, 15:00 UTC Join us at: LINK BBB Digitalcourage | Hand on heart: You have to be quite a techie to install and maintain CiviCRM. And service providers who have to take care of many instances, have therefore developed their own solutions. Ansible, Docker, Aegir, BuildKit, Spark - we're not starting from scratch, but so far there is no such thing as a common best practice for setting up a CiviCRM hosting infrastructure. The German CiviCRM community has now received funding ($100k) to continue working on this topic. Together with the international community we want to work on a common solution to simplify the installation process of CiviCRM. We have funds for conception and community work, but also for specific programming tasks - and we want to use these funds as effectively as possible for the benefit of all of us. As a kick-off, we are planning a workshop at the Sprint in Ashbourne/Manchester on Monday, December 4, 2023, 15:00 UTC: We will present our project and discuss with you how the deployment of CiviCRM should be improved. We want to exchange existing experiences and approaches in the automation of installation processes. Anyone interested in working on this project or having input is welcome to join the hybrid talk.
