INFRA-251 Redirect civicrm.org/documentation to docs.civicrm.org
Last year, INFRA-193 set up https://docs.civicrm.org/ to redirect to https://civicrm.org/documentation
At the time [~michaelmcandrew] [said|https://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/INFRA-193?focusedCommentId=92036&page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel#comment-92036] "If/when we get round to moving more documentation over to mkdocs, then it might make sense to switch back to the docs.civicrm.org as the home page as stuff will be automatically updated there as it is published"
Well, that time has come. I'm currently working on deploying updates to the publishing system, [civicrm-docs|https://github.com/civicrm/civicrm-docs], that produces a nice-looking home page (screenshot attached). Once these updates are in place, I'd like to do the following:
remove the redirect from {{docs.civicrm.org}} to {{civicrm.org/documentation}} by editing the nginx config on www-prod
https://civicrm.org/documentation (I've already harvested content from this page and put it into the new docs home page)
delete the Drupal page atadd a redirect from {{civicrm.org/documentation}} to {{docs.civicrm.org}} within Drupal.
I have the necessary permissions to complete all of the above steps. Since I don't anticipate concerns with this change, I'll probably do this soon. (maybe in the next few days?) But if anyone does have concerns please let me know!
