Creating a smart group?

Has anyone got this to create a working smart group? I've tried creating a 'contact search' output then using the results to create a smart group. The group is created but trying to use it pulls back all contacts.

The group definition shows a 'saved_search_id', but the saved_search just has 'form_values: ""'

Ah interesting issue. I am not sure we can easily solve this. As the two do not easily integrate. A smart search is build with a saved search and a saved search consists of a where statement and join statements. As where a data processor might even ben run in memory it does not necessarily be an SQL query. (There is a data source for CSV files)

I do think the data processor is some sort of a smart group. Could your smart group not just be a data processor? Or in other words where do you need the smart group for, could that be replaced by a data processor?

What might be a solution (but is not implemented yet) is to create some sort of cron job which would add all contacts in a certain data processor to a normal group (and remove the ones who are not part of the data processor anymore).

FYI, it is now possible to create a smart group via APIv4, and you can do so from the APIv4 Explorer UI.

That doesn't make sense in this situation as the data processor shows a search form/results and the drop down with search tasks. One of the tasks is to create a smart group from the search results. I dont see how a user could use apiv4 here...
