Update widget.tpl. Add span class to "of" so it is easy to target and remove with CSS. A case is when there is no explicit goal amount so it looks nonsensical and says e.g "$100 of raised". You still have a goal amount to get the progress bar "working" but it is a hidden as well.

The helper text for goal amount says "Enter an optional goal amount for this contribution page (e.g. for this 'campaign'). If you enable a contribution widget for this page, the widget will track progress against this goal. Otherwise, the goal will display as 'no limit'."

However, "no limit" doesn't show when using this ext and I'm not sure it shows with core thermometer widget either.
