Disable SQL mode `ONLY_FULL_GROUP_BY`
The documentation currently recommends to disable the SQL mode ONLY_FULL_GROUP_BY
via the following command:
SET GLOBAL sql_mode=(SELECT REPLACE(@@sql_mode,'ONLY_FULL_GROUP_BY',''));
I have two issues with that:
- For some reasons, it doesn't work for me, i.e. even afterwards
SELECT @@sql_mode;
showsONLY_FULL_GROUP_BY
. - According to the linked StackOverflow answer, shouldn't it rather be
SET PERSIST sql_mode=(SELECT REPLACE(@@sql_mode,'ONLY_FULL_GROUP_BY',''));
in order to persist restarts?
