D8 and localization files

Hi. Can someone advise me please how to install the localization files on a D8 Civi install that was set up using the Roundearth method?

You can just put them in vendor/civicrm/civicrm-core.

Depending on what version you're on there is also a setting in civicrm.settings.php that should work define('CIVICRM_L10N_BASEDIR', '/path/to/l10n');. I think that was 5.23?

Hi Dave, thanks for the fast response. Yes that works. Am I right in thinking though that when Civi is updated using Composer, the localisation files will be lost?

I didn't know about the setting in civicrm.settings.php, this sounds like a better option.

And yes I think if you put them in the core folder composer update would delete them.
