Case # in email subject

A "cleaner" solution seems desirable. Happy to take this on board but what would be the best method? I can think of:
- sticking the case_id in the session and adding the activity if this is present in the session?
- adding a temp table and writing the case_id to that table and removing it in the activity processing? Advice is welcome :-)
