## Outlook 365 plugin to integrate CiviCRM in the outlook addressbook
Potential Mentor: Jaap Jansma (CiviCooP) / Justin from Agileware
The aim of this project is to deliver a plugin for outlook 365 so that users of
outlook 365 can send e-mails to contacts in civicrm. The plugin should do the following at minimum:
*
all the contacts in CiviCRM exposed to the outlook address book
*
all the groups and the group membership exposed as groups in the outlook address book
*
above would be done with the restriction that you can only see the contacts and groups which you are allowed to see when you login into CiviCRM
*
outlook address book is read only. Meaning that changes should be made in CiviCRM and become visible in outlook
Additional features could be:
*
Acrhive an e-mail into CiviCRM
*
Archive an e-mail into a CiviCRM case
*
Make the addressbook writeable (meaning updated from outlook go to CiviCRM)
There is also make it happen going on for this same project: https://civicrm.org/blog/jaapjansma/outlook-365-civicrm-plugin-looking-for-funding
**GSOC 2020**
This project was part of GSOC 2020 and Justin was a mentor to Sarvesh who developed the first production ready version.
**GSOC 2021**
Not sure what additional development could be taken on.
# Integration of CiviCRM and Matrix
Potential Mentors: Jaap Jansma (CiviCooP)
Matrix is an an open network for secure, decentralized communication which could be an alternative for Whatsapp/Slack/Teams etc..
It is an open decentralized system and very flexible which means that building bots and bridges should in theory be possible.
It already consist of an implementation server (Synapse) and a client app called Element and it integrates Jitsi for video calls.
This project is to dive more into the matrix eco system and see whether it is possible to develop a proof of concept of linking CiviCRM to matrix.
There is no actual use case yet. But one simple use case might that messages are recorded in CiviCRM.
If you have any questions about this project or want to explore how to define the project ask Jaap Jansma on chat.civicrm.org
