Website, News (Blog) pages should be used to promote "News" and not Training, Conferences, Meetups, Webinars which already have an Events page.
Same applies for the CiviCRM dashboard, which is being spammed with a lot of "News" that is in fact: Training, Conferences, Meetups, Webinars
Recommend inserting some guideline text on the Blog page on CiviCRM.org to notify authors where to post their content and provide links to the guideline and how to post Event information.
Of the 10 news items on this page, 5 of the "news" are CiviDesk training session announcements which are also repeated in Events.
As a sidenote, you may want to consider monetizing the ability to post certain types of "news" in the CiviCRM dashboard due to it's global and direct marketing reach.
