Build test-3
We've ordered a new dedicated box at ovhcloud.com (GAM-1 aka GAME-64; i.e. i7-7700k 4c/8t w/64 GB RAM and 2x NVMe drives.) We need to setup the base and a test-3
.
-
@bgm - Setup the new hardware / base OS (so that it's possible to handle SSH/logins) - The server is in Virginia. Virginia food ideas... cobbler? peanuts?
-
@bgm - Rebuild the basic test VM (so that it's possible to handle SSH/logins) in the same configuration as test-1
- Note:
test-1
has firewall rules https://github.com/civicrm/civicrm-infra/blob/master/continuous-integration/worker-gen-3.md#open-http-ports-in-firewall https://github.com/civicrm/civicrm-infra/commit/f3d58a2f20a0240c4aa4a1ba90af91d20937a33e - If you have to set explicit memory and CPU allocations, then I'd vote for 32gb and 6 cores. (Then we'll configure Jenkins for 3 or 4 concurrent worker threads.)
- Note:
-
@totten - Install then worker gen 3 configuration. Apply label bknix-tmp
.
There are a few other tasks that we many want to branch off as this finishes up, but they don't need to be the same issue:
- Apply label
bknix-durable
totest-3
. (This is blocked on an issue where navigation among test sites only works with one server, so it's problematic fortest-1
andtest-3
to simultaneously fill that role. Need to update the navigation so that they're both discoverable.) - Disable
test-2
. Maybe move some other service that's more uptime-dependent over there.
