Difference between this and core authorize.net processor

Can you provide some background on this duplicating civi core authorize.net processor? I get the ACH functionality but Civi core already had the credit card functionality. Is that still supported?

I am referencing this https://docs.civicrm.org/authnetecheck/en/latest/releasenotes

Release 2.0

Implemented Authorize.net Credit Card processor. This replaces the CiviCRM Core "Authorize.net" processor.

We are still using core authorize.net processor successfully. If we were to want to use the ACH with this extension, can we still use the civi core processor or this extensions? Should we?

Are any of the settings different for site url and recurring payments url different than what Civi core uses for authorize.net? There is no content in the helper text to assist.
