+1 there's sometimes an ajax delay with the buttons appearing, so you go to click the Contributions tab and as you press the mouse button down Delete Contact appears and you hit that instead. Cue much swearing.
Agreed for such a serious operation. I've also had to hide this button with custom code for contacts that can "merge duplicate contacts" as you need "delete contacts" to do the merge ( but not wanting deleting done on it's own).
@nicol Cool, the location at the bottom would be nice.
My two cents on red: it should be red only when we hover on it. Otherwise it becomes a focus for no reason (it's not a call-to-action, if anything "Add Meeting" might be the CTA; and the delete button should not be a danger/warning until we wish to click on it).
Fair point. It's meant to stand out as in 'don't click on this unless you mean to', but it also now looks the most important item.
Because SearchKit lets you apply a Bootstrap style (danger/warning/success/info) to menu items, there's already a bit of this red bg delete creeping in - I just saw this one today (which looks bolder in RiverLea Walbrook/Island/Shoreditch - right)
Yup.. and this was annoying me with Shoreditch/TheIsland, and partly why I wanted to remove the Delete button. It stood out too much, and yet, not the most commonly used button.
For example, Gmail, imagine if the bit-bucket icon was red:
Random SalesForce image found on Google:
although of course, there are examples of red too in other applications.
Anyway, just my random opinion. I think a page should have one button with colour, and it should be the CTA. Ex: if I'm editing then "submit" can be blue/green, if I'm deleting then the confirmation to delete can be red, etc. but there should rarely be more than one button with colour on the screen, and it should be the hinted action.
Or maybe it's just me. When I see red buttons, it's very tempting to wonder about what they do :)
